Ash has a diverse range of commercial skill with specific expertise in strategy, business development and entrepreneurship as well as consultative sales and negotiation. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Postgraduate Certificate in Biotechnology and Master of Philosophy in Applied Science from Queensland University of Technology. Currently he is undertaking his PhD on Strategic Management and Dynamic Capabilities at University of Queensland.
Ash has academic and operational background in scientific companies. He has successfully run his own businesses for the last six years and has been actively involved in research at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI), the largest medical research institute at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
He also has three years’ experience of working as a project manager. As well as broad academic knowledge and practical experience in business strategy, his background in science means he has particular skill in assisting biotechnology and applied science industry businesses.
After working as a commercial lawyer for leading firms in Melbourne, Simon developed a highly regarded in house legal function for Pacifica Group Limited, a listed diversified manufacturing company in Melbourne. Then, based in London as Vice President at Getty Images, the world’s leading photographic imagery company, he established a high performing legal team that was a finalist in the European In House Team of the Year awards.
Upon his return to Australia, Simon joined Snowball Group Limited, a listed financial services company, as General Manager. Reporting to the Managing Director and a key member of the Executive Committee, Simon had responsibility for the operational areas of the business, including business planning and human resources. At Snowball Simon reconstructed the internal service functions of the business and in so doing, developed the future leaders of the business while building a high performance culture that executed on strategy.
Having achieved success at the corporate level, Simon began consulting to a wide range of clients to help them develop strategy and to create the leadership, systems and culture to enable an exceptional level of strategy execution.
Simon has an intimate understanding of the accelerating challenges that leaders and business owners face in not only developing strategy but also in executing strategy in an increasingly complex environment. His breadth of professional and senior executive experience in leading firms and listed companies in Australia and overseas enables him to deliver holistic, tailored solutions not only formulate strategy but also to achieve superior execution by aligning discretionary effort behind an organisation’s purpose and strategic goals.
A highly skilled and engaging facilitator, Simon also has extensive experience in and passion for designing and facilitating workshops and off sites that deliver accelerated outcomes.He is a guest lecturer in the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation program at Swinburne University of Technology. He belongs to the Australian Psychological Society, the International Organisation Development Association, Organisation Development Australia and the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Sarah has over 10 years experience in designing and delivering leading edge learning and development programs. Sarah has a strong record of success in contributing to significant and lasting change, for both individuals and organisations.Over the past decade, Sarah has worked in a number of leading consulting positions and held senior learning and organisational development roles in organisations across multiple industry sectors. Whilst her expertise extends across a range of disciplines, her specialisation lies in orchestrating outstanding results in the area of learning and development programs and leadership development. This talent was recognised at the 2009 HR Leadership Awards for work delivered at Aegis, one of the world’s largest training outsourcers.
Abi was an employment and industrial relations lawyer at the leading national firm Freehills for a number of years where she advised companies on contractual and statutory obligations in respect of their employees and contractors. Abi developed and delivered training programs on obligations under employment law and represented employers in several high profile industrial disputes. Abi worked as a commercial and corporate lawyer in the UK for a multinational IT and telecommunications services provider where she worked on a wide range of commercial matters and transactions, including the negotiation and drafting contracts for the design, build and operation of major government IT infrastructure and documenting and implementing systems to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations across 10 European jurisdictions.
